We’ve monitored Hostinger since 2017 and have tested the company in terms of performance, pricing, customer support, and more.

Hostinger experienced an average 99.96% uptime between Jan. 2022 and Dec. 2022. Hostinger experienced 29 outages, with an average of 3 hours and 42 minutes downtime in a year. Jan. 2022 was the worst, with an average uptime of 99.70%. July was 99.90%.

Hostinger uptime was between 99.96% to 100%. The last four months had 100% uptime. Hostinger offers a 99.9% uptime warranty, which is quite impressive.

Hostinger offers a wealth of knowledge and many guides to troubleshoot common issues with control panels and email. You will also find tutorials and articles about marketing and basic web hosting. This is a great resource, especially for those just starting out.

Hostinger regularly updates its knowledge base, as can be seen. Hostinger, for example, added a new article about how to fix the 403 error within hPanel while we were writing our Hostinger review.

Hostinger customer service is generally good. However, the chat wait times can sometimes be quite long. (We’ll discuss this in the pros section).

Hostinger also offers a free website builder. Hostinger gives you a free domain name for the first year if you choose Premium or Business web hosting plans. This can help you save money over time.

6. Simple-to-use Interface

Hostinger is a simple, modern interface that was created with beginners in mind.

Hostinger automated wizards usually handle three types of setups: domain, SSL, or web hosting. You can follow the instructions and fill out only a few fields. Once you have chosen your server location, you will be free to go.

The control panel, called hPanel, looks great and combines simplicity with functionality. Your hosting account dashboard allows you to track logins, manage domains and monitor emails. You can also update billing information.

7. Multiple payment options

Hostinger accepts credit and debit cards of all major banks, as well as e-wallets such Apple Pay, Google Pay and PayPal. For some countries, bank transfers are an option, but not for the U.S. and U.K.

Hostinger disadvantages

Hostinger, like all web hosting providers, has its downfalls. Hostinger review highlights some of the potential drawbacks to help you understand the whole package before you decide if it is the right fit for you.

Here’s a list of things Hostinger does not do well.

1. It takes a while for customer support to respond

Hostinger support team was professional but it took them a while for us to test them via the live chat. They responded to our emails much quicker than they did via live chat.
Live chat banner stated that customer service agents would respond within 10 minutes. This is the average response time.

We had to wait around 30 minutes. This is quite long, especially when you consider that other web hosting providers such as Bluehost or SiteGround respond instantly.

We have found that email support is the best way to get an answer quickly.

2. Replace cPanel with hPanel

Hostinger uses a customized solution called hPanel. While most website owners know cPanel well, Hostinger is not. If you are a novice, you shouldn’t be worried about the hPanel. Each tool is explained and easy to use.

Nevertheless, if you are already familiar with cPanel you might not feel at ease using this dashboard.

3. Startup Plans with low storage and bandwidth

Hostinger Single-Shared Hosting plan offers limited bandwidth (100GB) and low SSD storage (50%).

If you own a small website, this should suffice. However, if your e-commerce site receives more than 10,000 visits per month, it is worth looking at the more expensive plans.

Unlimited bandwidth is available for both Premium and Business plans. Their disk space is 100GB and 200GB, respectively. This is great for websites that have a lot of traffic and data.

4. There are exceptions to the money-back guarantee

Hostinger money-back guarantee has exceptions.

Hostinger will not refund domain registrations that are canceled or processed after four days. This web host will also refund domain name transfer fees within four days after registration, provided that the registry has not started transferring them.
